Russian boxer Albert Batyrgaziev won the gold medal after defeating American Duke Ragan in the featherweight category. Albert won 3-2 over Ragan and won the 15th gold medal for Russia (55 overall). Cuba's Lázaro Álvarez and Samuel Takyi of Ghana won bronze medals and this is Ghana's first medal at the Olympics in 29 years.
