Environmental activists have spent a second day camped up a tree in Hillingdon, London, in a bid to stop it being felled in order to make way for the HS2 railway line. Extinction Rebellion today declared the weekend's protest a success after tree surgeons were unable to cut down the trees and will have to wait 20 days until they can return. Some protestors spent all day up the trees 60ft in the air and had food ferried up to them in the branches and bottles for them to go to the toilet.
