The Noa Vax project "Granny Memi" 1/6/13 Tel Aviv.
A journey of roots and tradition, one percussionist goes through her grandmother's memoir songs, and turns them into a middle eastern fusion show.
"Granny memi" is a feminine and rhythmic music project, based on videos and recordings of my grandmother singing in Ladino.
She immigrated to Israel from Istanbul in the 50's.
Alongside with me are three wonderful musicians:
Idan Toledano- Oud, Guitar and vocals.
Niri Sadeh- Ney, Flute, Clarinet and Vocals.
Mazit Vaks- Vocals
Boris Marinin- Video art.
Noa Vax is an Israeli percussion artist that specializes in Middle eastern and south Indian percussion.
