Once again, Arlington Fleet Services at Eastleigh Works have worked their magic, with the Class 50 pair of 50007 and 50049 being freshly turned out in BR Large Logo Blue.
The pair, owned by the Class 50 Alliance, were repainted out of their respective shades of BR Blue in 2019 to receive the standard GB Railfreight Blue livery. The repaint was sponsored and paid for by GBRf, due to the locomotives being on spot-hire with the company. After 5 illustrious years in the livery, which has included numerous railtours and countless stock movement, the pair emerged from Arlington Fleet Services in matching BR Large Logo Blue.
50049 last wore Large Logo Blue, albeit with a black roof, just prior to the GBRf repaint. However, 50007 has not worn the scheme for over 40 years, having spent a prolonged period in its unique Brunswick Green with the name “Sir Edward Elgar”, as well as a stint in standard BR Blue with its original name “Hercules”.
Locomotives:

BR Class 50 - 50049 “Defiance” (name not carried)
All footage filmed on Friday the 9th of August 2024.
