Here are some more tools to use in Multi-sensory Structured Language Teaching.
Colored sand and bubble wrap can be utilized to add tactile reinforcement of phonograms (matching letters to sounds), or to practice sight words.
In this video, I asked the student to make an error in order to demonstrate a couple of ways to use positive error correction (in the sand and with bubble wrap). In reality, after the student made a mistake, I would have led her to discover the correct sound for the phonogram by writing it in a word she is familiar with. Once she corrected her mistake, we would have reinforced it with multi-sensory practice such as in the sand, with the bubble wrap, writing it, etc.
