French Navy Group Unveils Futuristic SMX-31 Submarine Design Concept#Shorts
The SMX-31 submarine, designed by the French Navy Group, features an innovative design and advanced technologies to meet the underwater warfare needs of 2050. With a length of approximately 70 meters, a width of 13 meters, and a height of 10 meters, the submarine boasts a displacement of around 3,000 tons. Its unique design includes weapon launch chambers, crew quarters, control rooms, escape pods, diver delivery chambers, weapon storage areas, main and auxiliary engine rooms, UUV deployment and storage areas, and more. The submarine’s exterior features a flat, whale-like body covered in rubber scales that serve as sound-absorbing tiles and integrate various sensors. Additionally, the SMX-31 features an X-rudder layout and propulsion systems on both sides of the rear, replacing the traditional propeller and reducing navigation resistance and noise, making it ideal for shallow-water operations.
