The G26 is an affordable new smart band model
.
The frame around the display may trick you it is aluminum – it is not, it’s all-plastic body used here. The strap is made of silica gel, I’ve used it in very hot sweaty weather and have no indications of skin irritation. And the material feels soft and pleasant. It will fit well any kind of hand size – from small kids, up to people with large wrists.
The strap is actually replaceable, but other models will be pretty hard to find.
The display here is 0.96'', TFT, with resolution of 160 by 80 pixels – not bad at all. It is covered by plastic, and anything harder than plastic will leave a scratch. One capacitive button is in the middle and that’s how you operate – using short or long taps. I was surprised how well the visibility of this one is during daytime. even under direct sunglight you may be able to distinguish some of the characters and modes and that is possible thanks not only to the bright illumination, but also to the well-designed watchfaces and menus.
The device is powered by a chip produced from the company called Dialog Semiconductors, and is among the smallest, most efficient and most often integrated Bluetooth system-on-a-chip solutions lately. And we will see many new models based on it. The Lenovo Cardio Plus uses the same equipment with a slightly smaller battery. Heart-rate sensor and g-sensor are available on the G26, there is no GPS embedded.
I like the variety of modes – some of the watchfaces will show you the current steps, calories and distance, and there are a few training modes – running, cycling and hiking. Although you will see a waterproof and dust rating – it is only iP67 certified, and I wouldn’t use it for swimming.

I think the heartrate sensor here is better than the one on Cardio Plus, and it has a feature similar to continuous heartrate. The shortest time between measurements is 15 minutes, which is not too great. But is a mechanism to prolong the battery life.
The App is called "jyoupro". And although I am very skeptical about this kind of apps and it only has 2.2 out of 5 stars in Google Play Store – functions are quite many, and it lets you configure, analyze and export data.
Blood pressure and oxygen level measurements are far away from being professional, but is at least something.

At the end – the battery performance – up to 7 days of active usage is what Teamyo promises to get out of the 105mah battery. And this statement is true. Even a bit underestimated – I managed to get 9 days on my first cycle with daily usage and notifications on. If you decide to not use it – standby will be around 25 days. Charging happens via this weird USB cable.
I mentioned at the start – it might be better than the mi band 3. We’ve got colorful display, better visible at almost any kind of lighting conditions, better watchfaces, blood pressure and oxygen level measurement, and overall, more features. On the other side mi band 3 does have better water-resistance, better app, a huge variety of straps and protectors and longer battery life. Makes it a tough choice.
