Pregnancy Week 2:
At the start of this week, you ovulate. Your egg is fertilized 12 to 24 hours later if a sperm penetrates it. Over the next several days, the fertilized egg will start dividing into multiple cells as it travels down the fallopian tube, enters your uterus, and starts to burrow into the uterine lining.
Pregnancy Week 5:
Two-chambered heart:
Your little one now has a two-chambered heart which basically looks like a tube that is twisted
back onto itself.
Pregnancy WEEK 8:
Reproductive organs:
This is the week that your baby's reproductive organs will either become testes (it's a boy!) or
ovaries (t's a girl!).
Heart development:
The heart has now developed into a tiny replica of a fully grown adult heart with four chambers.
Bone development:
The bones of your baby's arms and legs start to firm up and the trunk straightens.
Pregnancy WEEK 9:
Fingers and toes:
The fingers and toes become properly separated, losing any webbing.
The eyes:
The eyes are moving from the side of the head to the front, where they will eventually be located.
Joint development:
Bone development continues, and you can even start to see joints.

Now 3/12 inches long, the young one is coordinated enough to find his or her thumb and suck it. fingernails and toenails are beginning to grow. the baby is aloso able to swallow and urinate.
20 weeks of Pregnancy:
the fetus is now about 10 inches long from head to heel and weighs 11 ounces. the baby has unique waking and sleeping patterns and even has a favorite position to sleep in. the pregnancy is about half over, and the mother is beginning to show. studies indicate that babies can feel pain at 20 weeks, and possibly even earlier.
24 weeks of Pregnancy:
the baby now wwighs approimately 1 1/2 pounds and inhales amniotic fluid in preparation for breathing. the ear has developed to the point where the baby recognizes his or mother's voice, breathing and heartbeat. the baby may have a blink-startle response resulting from sound applied to the mother's abdomen. some babies born at this stage of development are able to surive.
28 weeks of Pregnancy:
Eyelashes and eyebrows are
present. The fetus has a good head of hair.
The thin, red, wrinkled skin of the
fetus is covered with a white
cheese-like substance called vernix.
Approximately 91% of the infants born at this age will survive if born at a hospital that provides expert high-risk newborn care.
36 weeks of Pregnant:
The fetus has fully-formed limbs with fingernails and toenails. Muscle tone is developed and the fetus can turn and lift its head. The fetus has soft earlobes with
little cartilage. The fetus is about 19 inches long and weighs about 5 to 6 pounds. An infant born at this time has an excellent chance of survival with proper care.
