A-Level Drama (2018) AQA Devised performance based around our research into human trafficking
We were really inspired by Human Trafficking Awareness month and began to research into Human Trafficking and how victims are continuously tied to the industry. Our piece focuses on 3 individual cases of human trafficking: force, fraud and coercion and how these leave physical and emotional impacts on the victims.
For our A-Level Drama examination, we chose to use the Frantic Assembly as our practitioner. Our class really learned to love this style of theatre, and how movement can help further convey a message.
The paint was an integral part of our devising process as our mock a year prior helped to establish the impact it can have on audiences. We chose to additionally include a projected video we created including images and quotes that stood out to us from our research.
This piece is certainly not perfect and upon reflection, there is so much more we wished to portray and to polish however we hoped that the message was clear and that the audience was more aware of the impact human trafficking has on victims and that it is still a very current issue around the globe.
