In this on-demand CLE, Erica Lyman, Clinical Professor and Director of our Global Law Alliance for Animals and the Environment (GLA), and Nick Fromherz, Adjunct Professor and GLA Latin American Program Director, address why business as usual laws aren’t doing enough to protect wild animals from the extinction crisis and climate change and why the Rights of Nature movement is a new kind of framing that offers hope. As Lyman and Fromherz explain, around the world, Rights of Nature laws can no longer be dismissed as theoretical; they can, and are, offering innovative approaches to protecting wild animals and the habitats they call home.
This CLE is approved by the Oregon State Bar for 1 general CLE credit and may be eligible for CLE credit in other states.
