Tōfa Mamao is a collective for the Auckland regional Pacific disabled peoples, their families and carers – the only such collective in Aotearoa New Zealand. Established in June 2018 by like-minded people, we work to advance the voices of Pacific disabled peoples and their families.
We are a grassroots, independent collective with an approach underpinned by the principles of Enabling Good Lives and the NZ Disability Strategy.
Our purpose is to advance the voices of Pacific disabled peoples and their families and carers in all sectors, ensuring that our lived experiences are acknowledged, valued and respected. We seek to achieve this through:
• advancing the voices of Pacific disabled peoples (advocacy), and
• connecting individuals and families with relevant services and support groups
