Annecy is a town in Savoy, France, that is located just around one hour from Geneva, Switzerland. It is located by a lake with the same name. The color of the lake is very striking with a combination of sapphire and turquoise. It definitely invites you to swim, although swimming is only permitted in designated areas (despite many tourists ignoring the signs). The town is also very charming, with small canals criss-crossing the medieval buildings, earning Annecy the title "the Venice of the Alps".
