Music Maestro #BhupenHazarika was conferred the nation's highest civilian award posthumously by President Ram Nath Kovind today.
Late Hazarika's son, Tez Hazarika, received the honour at the Rashtrapati Bhawan on behalf of the maestro.
The announcement for #BharatRatna was made on January 25 in a statement issued by the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Besides Tez Hazarika, other family members of the late maestro were also present on the occasion.
Reactions started pouring in soon after the maestro was conferred nation's highest civilan honour.
