We are excited to share a remarkable project recently completed by Flights of Fantasy, a leading creator of bespoke timber play areas and sculptures. Our latest endeavour at Pomeroy Forest in Northern Ireland has culminated in the creation of two magnificent timber giants, each standing at 15 feet plus tall. These impressive sculptures are believed to be among the largest timber carvings globally.
At Flights of Fantasy, we create design led timber play areas and we take pride in managing all aspects of our projects, from sustainably sourcing timber from our very own sawmill at West Acre Estate, Norfolk, to in-house design, manufacturing, and on-site installation. We were approached by Midulster Council in 2018 with this opportunity at Pomeroy Forest Park. A discovery trim trail, consisting of 38 bespoke timber carvings and 10 plus play structures. Including the iconic humungous giants, designed by our founder Russell Bowlby. The project has been supported by Midulster Council and the EU Peace Fund and has been a collaboration with Mcgurk Architechts. Our work on the Pomeroy Forest project exemplifies this comprehensive approach, with our team crafting bespoke play components, trim trail items, and captivating sculptures that enhance the natural beauty of the forest.
