The Congress and BJP have engaged in war of words after Delhi University's decision to name one of its upcoming colleges after Veer Savarkar. The student wing of Congress has called for the college to be named after former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who passed away last week.
The Veer Savarkar College, set to be built in Najafgarh, has an estimated budget of Rs140 crore. The project was approved by Delhi University's executive council in 2021.
