Dutch infantry with NATO’s enhanced Forward Presence battlegroup in Lithuania conduct urban warfare training in an abandoned factory complex.
As part of Exercise Scorpion Strike, held in Lithuania in February 2018, a combined platoon from the 2nd Mechanized Infantry company were inserted approximately three kilometres from the objective, a suspected IED factory and safe haven for terrorists. The troops patrolled to the complex and engaged the terrorists in an intense, room-by-room gun battle.
The Dutch are one of seven nations making up the eFP battlegroup in Lithuania, which demonstrates NATO’s commitment to collective defence while helping allies train together. Footage shows the Dutch training, on patrol outside in the snow and inside a derelict building.
