The Security Council has endorsed recommendations of the UN Chief to repatriate military or police units in peacekeeping operations where credible evidence of widespread or systematic sexual exploitation and abuse exists. The first ever resolution to explicitly tackle sexual exploitation by U.N. peacekeepers passed despite a single abstention from Egypt that earlier failed to get an amendment passed from the floor.
