The original 12 etudes S.136, also called "Étude en douze exercices", were composed by Franz Liszt when he was 15 years old. Some years later, he used the themes from this etudes to compose the Grandes Etudes and the Transcendental Etudes.
This one became the No.1 "Preludio" in C major.
