To satisfy my own curiosity, I made a short head-to-head comparison between my amp @EVHgear 5150 Iconic & the plugin Archetype Gojira by @NeuralDSP . Obviously they’re not exactly the same amp, but both are based on the 5150.
Order of things:
1. In a mix: Matched the sound of both as close as I can. Amp/plugin knob settings are almost the same. The plugin only has a low-pass EQ on it.
2. Isolated tracks: Plugin first with the low-pass eq ON and then OFF. Here you can hear the difference the best.
