Logassa is named after the first phrase in this prakrit stotra Logassa Ujjoyagare (meaning: Illuminator (uplifter) of this world).It is so popular that it is recited during Partikramana being part of main Avasyaka sutra of Jain prayer as well as during Samayika and Chauvisamthu. It basically glorifies those who have illuminated the world by preaching the sacred doctrine. It contains the names of all 24 Tirthankaras of Jainism.
