Do you have a tear in your leather seat? In our case we had a terror in our perforated seats and we wanted to be really careful not to screw them up and make the tear look worse than it already did.
We wanted the best leather repair kit that was reasonably priced. There are lots of cheap leather repair kits but we don't think they're going to hold up. The Coconix Professional Leather and Vinyl repair kit really looked like the best cheap leather repair kit we could find. Conconix black leather repair kit looked professional enough to do a good job, but easy enough for beginner to use.
We watched a lot of videos trying to figure out what we should look for to fix torn leather.
Some of the leather patch kits required heating irons which can easily cause discipline discoloration or damage to the leather. We are pretty sure that the heating iron kids will do a better job but we didn't want to risk it damaging the leather because we wanted the easiest leather patch kit we could find that would hold.
Other leather patch kits are glue that is colored to match the seat color but we didn't think they would be strong enough.
In the end what we decided was we needed to have a backing fabric material, the special colored leather glue and it had to be cheap.
the Cadillac I'm repairing is a CT6 plug in hybrid which costs $92,000 new, so I think $25 for a brand for a brand name patch kit from Conconix was cheap.
The Caconix leather and vinyl repair kit wasn't the cheapest but it certainly wasn't the most expensive either And it had great reviews so we decided to give the caconics professional leather and vinyl repair kit a shot.
We are pretty happy with the results and in this video we show you how to repair tears in leather.
