Welcome to the full review of the Mana Surfboard Foot Soldier which I have been riding as a 5'10 x 19 1/4 x 2 5/8 - 31.5L
This board has been epic to check out, and paired with the EPS construction has been great in waves 2-6ft.

Foot Soldier: the ultimate workhorse in our range. A daily driver taken from the curve and outline of the M1 series and relaxed to suit a broader range of waves and surfing ability. We lowered the overall nose and tail rocker to accommodate a more ‘groveller’ curve but still left enough for it to be very responsive and easy to surf in the pocket. The bottom remains as a single concave from nose to tail as standard to create lift, speed and drive, with a widened tail pod incorporating an exaggerated hip to rounded square tail for smooth rail transition through turns. This boards fits directly between the SABRE and the M1 series.
Ridden 2” shorter, a 1/4” thicker, 1/4” wider and 1-1.5L more than your standard HP shortboard, this board is considered as step-down for advanced surfers or an everyday driver for the average joe. Exceptionally fun and forgiving in any wave from 2-6ft, we recommend it in both stringered EPS/Epoxy Tec and PU. A personal, team and customer favourite for 2022.
In the Foot Soldier I rode a variety of fins from Futures Fins, but really found the AM template was the most versatile of the lot.

The AM2 Honeycomb, designed by legendary shaper Al Merrick of Channel Islands Surfboards, is a large size thruster in the Rake template category. Featuring a balanced flex pattern, this fin's wider base provides increased drive through turns, making it ideal for high performance surfing. The centre fin is smaller than the side fins for increased manoeuvrability.
