Most of my collection are Powell-Peralta Reissues but I recently got lucky with this super rare and minty vintage OG 1989 Iron Cross Skateboards - Justin 'Pasty' Ashby 'Pig' deck.
The deck came with:
~ OG Gullwing Phoenix Trucks
~ OG Santa Cruz Bullet 63mm 97a Speed Wheels
~ OG Cell Block 3 Bar Risers
~ Bearings are NOT OG(One Leopard - Damselfish Frictionless Abec 9)
The art on this deck is killer and was done by Justin Ashby. The Pig graphic represents 'Pig City'...Brighton, England. It was named 'Pig City' because of all the cops harassing the skaters in the 70s but it sounds like it was a crazy scene similar to Dogtown.
Iron Cross Skateboards was started by Art and Steve Godoy and supported by Tony Magnusson and Mike Ternasky (the owners of H-Street who Art skated for at the time) who helped fund and produce the decks. The Iron Cross Skateboards brand started in late '88 and lasted till '91 when the street scene really started to take over.
Rough Specs:
- Length 30.5"
- Width 10.25"
- Nose 4"
- Tail 6.5"
- Wheelbase 15"
- Trucks Old School
- Screened Graphics
