This is a tour of the new Factory that has open on Chicago's far south side located on 13535 south Torence in the city's Hegewisch neighborhood to supply the first 10 prototype new (7000-series) cars after the CTA finishes testing them the cars will go into service in 2020 before CRRC goes into full order for 846 cars which will eventually make up half of the CTA fleet the cars are expected to replace the agencies oldest cars the (2600-series) which is more than 30-years old.
