FM22 has brought a new position to the football manager universe. The wide center back has brought a whole new dimension to the back 3 in FM. Chelsea won the champions league playing with a back three and FM had to react with a tactical change. The addition of a new role is more than expected and opens up a whole set of possibilities I wasn’t ready to handle in my tactic but yet I found a while to handle it nonetheless.
I spent a month with a 5 at the back tactic using two wide centerbacks of varying mentalities so that I could put together a video about how they play. I really enjoy putting together videos showing people how a role works inside a tactic, it is fun and helpful for me to also look back and figure out how a role plays in different situations. I hope your FM22 experience is enhanced by this video in some way. May you have great success with the 5 at the back tactic.
