Michigan State University provided an update Thursday at 10 a.m. on Monday's mass shooting on the East Lansing campus.
Police were still hunting for a motive that led Anthony McRae, 43, to shoot and kill Brian Fraser, 20, Alexandria Verner, 20 and Arielle Anderson, 19, all MSU students.
As of Thursday, four students injured during the shooting remain in critical condition, but some are showing signs of improvement, Interim MSU President Teresa Woodruff said.
One of those students has since moved from critical to stable condition, according to Sparrow Hospital.
Michigan State University returned to standard operations after being in modified operations for 48 hours, meaning university offices are open but with "wide latitude provided to supervisors across our university network," Woodruff said.
