UTS Central (Building 2) reflects the innovative and creative thinking that characterises UTS. With high-tech infrastructure and a range of specialist spaces across 17 levels, it complements the array of teaching, learning and research facilities on offer in the heart of our inner-city campus.
Next to the UTS Tower and opposite Central Park on Broadway, UTS Central is a striking, glass-encased building that redefines the southern gateway to Sydney’s CBD and adds to the architectural diversity of the UTS campus.
A vibrant student hub, UTS Central will accommodate a new UTS Library driven by state-of-the-art digital infrastructure, and a multitude of interconnected formal and informal learning spaces catering to individual learning needs. Specialist teaching spaces include three large-scale collaborative classrooms with a world-first design that supports active learning and the Hive
Superlab, a colourful large-scale teaching lab.
UTS Central will also be home to the Faculty of Law, UTS Reading Room, a Research Excellence and Support Hub (RES Hub), Scholars Centre, specialist research spaces for the Faculty of Engineering and IT, a Student Learning Hub and a food court that opens on to Alumni Green.
