On August 5, during a counterterrorist operation conducted in the village of Lechinkay, Chegem District of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic law enforcers blocked a house, where, according to power agents, members of the armed underground could be hiding. As a result of an assault, a suspected militant was killed. The killed Timur Betuganov, born in 1976, was on the federal wanted list on suspicion of attempted murders of law enforcers and arms circulation. In the course of the special operation, law enforcers managed to take a woman and three children out of the blocked house, the NAC's Information Centre told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, without specifying whether they were relatives of the slain militant. NAC also confirmed that two law enforcers were lightly wounded in the shootout. For details, see: [ Ссылка ]
