Nabeul, Tunisia
Formerly a Phoenician settlement, it was destroyed by the Romans in 146 BCE and later rebuilt as a Roman colony called Neapolis. It is very well known as a pottery and ceramics handicraft centre. Other industries include stone cutting, quarrying (chalk), citrus fruit and flower growing, viticulture, and the manufacture of perfume and harissa (red chili paste). We would like to share with you our visit to this beautiful coastal town, and focus on the marvellous ceramics to be found here, as well as our visit to the local souk (market)
