The Glasgow Coma Scale is one the first things you will learn about in EMT school. This GCS (Glasgow coma scale) will help you determine the patient's how ill or injured the patient is at this time. You will determine their eye opening response, verbal response and their motor response.
Commonly during a traumatic call this will be one of the first things the emergency department staff will ask about.
