Young and old, men and women, volunteers from the Dawoodi Bohras of Dubai and Abu Dhabi organised an E-waste collection and recycling drive to rid the planet of trash – cleaning up litter and mismanaged e-waste from our homes and offices. The two-day drive was organised to mark World Cleanup Day on September 17, 2022, under the aegis of Project Rise and Burhani Foundation.
World Cleanup Day unites millions of volunteers, governments and organisations in 191 countries to tackle the global waste problem and build a new and sustainable world.
With the advancement in technology, a large number of electronic devices are becoming obsolete regularly. Batteries, Computer devices, Mobile phones, Printers, and Cartridges top the list. These devices contain harmful materials such as beryllium, cadmium, mercury and lead, which can threaten the environment if not disposed of properly.
