The latest IPCC Report 2022 on Climate Change and Climate Finance (summary) from Working Group II stressed the need to accelerate climate adaptation using climate finance approaches.
The IPCC report 2022 summary explained and emphasised several strategies to deal with future climate change impacts. A large part of the report highlighted that half of the finance available for climate change-related projects goes toward adaptation methods. Currently, finance for adaptation falls short of its intended goals and country needs.
Early warning systems for climate and weather events were one of several adaptation approaches that garnered attention yet require more resources.
