Top diplomats from the G7 met in Fiuggi to discuss ending wars in Gaza and Lebanon and post-war arrangements. They invited Qatar, Egypt, UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan for their leverage in the Middle East. Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani expressed optimism on Lebanon but acknowledged Gaza's complexity. Italy plans to invite Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas to Rome and is open to sending peacekeeping forces to Gaza. The International Criminal Court's arrest warrant for Israeli PM Netanyahu was also discussed, with varied stances among EU countries. The G7 aims to contribute to reconstruction and peacekeeping if ceasefires are achieved.
