The 2 Rupees Coin was first introduced in 1982 with the theme National Integration as commemorative coin and later released the same in 1990 and was released till 2004.
The 1990 2 Rs coin was made of copper nickel weighing 8 grams with 28 mm diameter and circular in shape whereas the coins released during 1992-2004 were in 6 grams weight and 26 mm diameter and hendecagonal shape.
On the Obverse, Ashoka Lion Capital with lettering भारत INDIA सत्यमेव जयते रुपये 2 RUPEES. At the reverse, flag within Map of India, date with lettering राष्ट्रीय एकता NATIONAL INTEGRATION.
The 1990 Calcutta and Hyderabad Mint coins, 1996 and 1997 Calcutta Mint coins are termed as scare and valued approx. Rs 50 to Rs 100. The 2004 Calcutta Mint coin is termed as rare and valued approx. Rs 250 to Rs 750. Rest all the coins are considered as common and numismatic value is approx. Rs 10 in UNC condition.
