1964-70 G10 Chevy van kingpin bushing set. The front axles on these vans are I-beam type aka a straight axle. Later year models used independent suspension which gave a smoother ride. I-beam axles are still in use today on big rig trucks because of their strength and ability to carry large loads. The king pins allow the steering knuckle (spindle) to turn left and right. Bushings are pressed into the spindle and after reaming to adjust the diameter, the hardened steel king pin is pressed into the assembled straight axle/spindle assembly. This video shows the contents of the kit and closeup of one of the bronze bushings.
