Ben Selvin’s Knickerbockers featuring Harry Reser.
Recorded in New York on May 26th 1925
Thank you Javier Soria Laso for the additional information below:
"It’s indeed Ben Selvin’s band, which was indeed a very good one! This side features also Earl Oliver's growling trumpet, Tommy Gott's trumpet, Sammy Lewis's crazy trombone, Larry Abbott's alto sax, soprano sax & clarinet, an unknown alto sax, soprano sax, baritone sax & clarinet, Lucien Smith/Schmidt's tenor sax, soprano sax & clarinet, Jimmy Johnston's honking bass sax, Lew Cobey's piano, Harry Reser's banjo & Selvin's longtime founding member & sideman Milton Sands's drums. (Information from my copy of Richard J. Johnson & Bernard H. Shirley’s book “American Dance Bands On Record & Film, 1915-1942” (from whom the latter published a supplement according to recent info provided by Enrico Borsetti) published by the now defunct Rustbooks on 2010 (Rustbooks disappeared after Malcolm Shaw’s death, I think)).
This side was cut on May 26 from 1925 in New York & issued on Columbia 391-D as the Knickerbockers & british Columbia 3714 as Denza Dance Band."
