Big thank you to the wonderful musician and professor, Mr. Namjoo for sharing his vast knowledge in Rhythm in Persian Poetry. It certainly broadened my understanding of how poetry can influence music and made me rethink my views about many songs I have heard and admired so far. I hope more individuals learn about this extremely talented and educated musician! Although he is often known as the Bob Dylan of Iran mainly due to the message of his music, there is a lot more to him and his music that deserve to be recognized. I was trying to write a little about him to explain his work to the work but before I knew I ended up with 10 pages of information. There is so much to say about this outstanding individual, his style and abilities which I will explore and explain in more detail in my upcoming blog posts on my site.
Mr Namjoo was very kind and answered my question about using Sohrab Sepehri poems in Persian music and also regarding the influence and style of Shahram Shabpareh in Persian music. The question about Mr. Shabpareh led to Mr. Namjoo sharing one of his childhood memories.
