READ ALONG TO PRACTICE YOUR ENGLISH AND TO LEARN THE MEANING OF IN OVER YOUR HEAD: So in English when you are in over your head it means that you've agreed to do something that you're not actually able to do, and not capable of doing. Maybe you don't even know how to do it. So a great example would, maybe your brother and his wife have gone away for a weekend and you told them that you would paint their house while they were gone, but you've never ever painted a house before. You don't know the first thing about painting a house. This would be an example of a situation where you are in over your head. So you've agreed to do something that you are not capable of doing, that you don't even have the knowledge to do it. The same could be true if you told your brother that you would fix his car, and you have no idea how to fix a car, and as soon as you got started you realize quickly that you are in over head.
