During the 1918 Spanish Flu epidemic that decimated communities and devastated much of the world, the university turned Buell Armory into a makeshift infirmary.

Today, in response to the COVID-19 disease, we are once again answering the call. And, once again, athletics – the proud front porch of our institution – is playing a role.

We are converting Nutter Field House into a 400-bed hospital to handle a potential surge in patients.
