Do your joints hyperextend? Do your elbows or knees extend beyond being straight? … Not sure? then take video of yo self! What do you see? 👀
Not only does it look, well, not the most athletic when your elbows bend inward & out of their natural range of motion — it’s not good for your elbows! So let’s fix this and prevent chronic pain‼️
But first, you need to understand why hyperextension occurs. When your elbows go inward while in a plank position, then that means that you’re biomechanically weaker and less stable in certain regions of the body.
Now what⁉️
If this is you, take the time to make a conscious effort in using your muscles to keep your arms from hyperextending - especially when you perform movements like planks or handstands. Remember it’s aaaall about INTENTION within movement. So keep that in mind next time you find yourself working out.
