Thousands of people have rushed to Queensland after the border officially reopened at 1am local time this morning.
Over 50,000 vehicles are expected to enter the state within the first 24 hours - as the border reopens for the first time in almost five months.
Domestic airports are bracing for a major surge in flight arrivals.
