I went to San Juan Capistrano on 1-5-13 for the day to meet up with CoasterAmtrakFan, 798amtrak, and crazytaxi1000. It was a fun time!! we saw a couple doubleheaders, and F59PHI 885 was using the K5LA!! CoasterAmtrakFan rode behind 885, he was one lucky kid, wish i stuck with taking the metrolink home. Here is what we caught
Train 1: Metrolink 665 departs for Los Angeles with cab car 690 and F59PHIs 884 and 885
Train 2: Metrolink 662 with F59PH 861 and cab car 656.
Train 3: Amtrak 573 with cab car 6904 and F59PHIs 459 and 453. You can see CoasterAmtrakFan jumping up and down trying to get a horn show, we got what he wanted!
Train 4: Amtrak 572 with F59PHI 460 and cab car 6951, 460's paint is STILL shiny! hard to believe it would stay shiny for this long isn't it?
Train 5: Amtrak 777 with cab car 6900 and F59PHI 454. I was talking to crazytaxi1000 on the phone while filming this train.
Train 6: Amtrak 774 with F59PHI 463 and cab car 6951. The voice you hear in the departure of this train is Enrique, I asked him to narrate my video for me, cause i was allowing talking in my videos today....
Train 7: Amtrak 579 rolls through Del Obispo Street with cab car 6952 and F59PHI 452. We decided to go to Del Obispo Street for the next 3 trains we saw, cause the Del Obispo Street railroad crossing is expected to become a quiet zone sometime soon. We filmed Metrolinks 666 and 858 at San Juan Capistrano station because we thought we saw some railfans at the station before 579 passed
Train 8: Metrolink 666 with F59PHIs 885 & 884, and cab car 690. If you listen close, you will hear a K5LA/P2 mix on 885! CoasterAmtrakFan rode this train to Oceanside, since his mom didnt wanna pay for Amtrak. i was gonna ride this train home, but i decided to stay for a little longer and go home on 580. Little did i know that 885 would have a K5LA on it!!
Train 9: Metrolink 858 with cab car 638 and F59PH 873. This train was being cab car led today, im used to seeing this train being engine led, but not on this day
Train 10: Amtrak 580 with F59PHI 457 and cab car 6901. I boarded this train and rode back to Oceanside
Train 11: At Oceanside: Amtrak 580 departs for San Diego
