We started early on the Stevens Trail at 9am sharp. It was 45 degrees. The high of the day was 55 and I was down to a tank top. No shade on majority of trail. Bring lots of water and sunscreen. Last 2 miles will be going back up out of the canyon and ending the 9 mile hike with 2 miles of elevation gain kicked my butt! We totaled out at 1600 ft elevation gain. Saw so many wildflowers and pollinators. The view from the trail of the North Fork of the American River was so epic! I couldn’t take enough pics. Parking lot at trailhead with bathrooms, street parking for overflow.
