This is a typical case in point where a familiar Earthly concept on another heavenly body and still is different in a basic way. We have volcanoes that erupt and spew magma. you must have seen videos of the red, hot , viscous liquid dropping out from cracks in a mountain. the same phenomena is present on Saturn's moon Enceladus, Neptune's moon Triton and so on. however, there is one minor difference. these volcanoes don't spew magma, they spew water! there are ice deposits under their mountains that get heated and blow out from the surface. We have smaller visions of these on earth. we call them natural geysers.
Mars has a volcanic mountain called Olymous Mons. This mountain is 26 Km high. towering at tree times the height of Mt Everest!
