Soy sauce is the backbone of Chinese and Asian cooking. It's distinctive soy flavour and saltiness make it a must have if you cook Asian. However there always seems to be confusion over which type of soy sauce to use and when. One of the most frequently asked questions I get is - do I use light soy sauce or dark soy sauce? And if you pop to your local Asian supermarket it's easy to see why.
There are whole aisles dedicated just to different types, brands and styles of soy sauce. The choice is bewildering and if you don't know what you're looking for the whole experience can be quite intimidating.
Well this video is aimed at helping people who are not sure which soy sauce to use. I explain step by step the differences between the main ones, when and how to use them. If you watch this video you'll never be be confused about soy sauce again!
