Cantigas de Santiago - Kyrie Trope by Stephen Goss
Cantigas de Santiago is a modern reworking of medieval music associated with the Camino. This ancient pilgrimage route leads to the shrine of St. James in the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela in Galicia, northwestern Spain, where tradition has it that the remains of the saint are buried.
The Codex Calixtinus is a 12th-century illuminated manuscript. It was intended as a travel guide: an anthology of information and advice for pilgrims following the Camino. The manuscript also includes some of the earliest examples of polyphonic music including the Kyrie Trope, Cunctipotens Genitor.
