Valse de Concert is the first catalogued among the less than ten surviving compositions of the pianist, Mischa Levitzki. Written after the advent of Modernism and the loosening of traditional tonality in the academic circles, Levitzki decided to remain faithful to the lingering Romantic style, similarly to Bortkiewicz and Medtner. This beautiful concert waltz, in certain times, flows smoother than water and, in others, pops nimbly like a jackrabbit.
