"We've got this very glamorous dress designed by Bruce Oldfield, it's bright red it's got lots of spangles on it, big shoulder pads, but equally it's very modest and appropriate for Saudi Arabia. It's got a long skirt, there's a high neckline long sleeves, absolutely no flesh on display and then there's also a dress designed by Zandra Rhodes which is in the color of cherry blossom and cherry blossom was in flower in Japan when she wore it for her trip to Japan, so it's making these references to where they're visiting."

"For the 50s we're looking at the kind of Dior's new look and the big full new skirts and she adopted that really quite early and she wore a Dior new look gown for her 21st birthday, so that was quite a statement really, a fashionable statement and one of the dresses we've got on display here is, you know quite sexy in its design and it's got a low cut neck and it's got a halter neck and when it was reported on in the press you know, people were very excited to see it because it was a kind of sexy dress for a royal to be wearing, but I think again, she still dressed within the codes of a royal wardrobe, perhaps just pushing the boundaries a bit more."
