Former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen led a delegation of ‘Friends of Ukraine’ to visit the east Ukrainian contact line on Sunday 17th September 2017.
The group of former and current politicians and diplomats travelled to a regional ‘ATO’ headquarters where they were briefed on the situation on the ground. They then travelled to the base of the 128th Brigade, and visited some areas that had been shelled.
The group included Mikulas Dzurinda, former Prime Minister of Slovakia, Ambassador Alexander Vershbow, former NATO Deputy Secretary General, and Marieluise Beck from the German Bundestag.
