This is a short video with some military movements I caught at Fairford Air Force Base and RAF Brize Norton back in June. It was my first time spotting at RAF Brize Norton, and only my second time at Fairford. You have seen the footage from the USAF B-1 Bombers. This is the other footage I made during that trip. A huge catch was the Lockheed U-2 Dragon Lady. Fairford has two of these high altitude reconnaissance planes based and they fly very often! You just never know exactly when. I got really lucky catching one coming to land back at base after a mission. However, I was unlucky too. The pilot held the plane very low on the approach which caused trees and bush blocking my view. Hopefully I'll get a chance of a better shot at a flying U-2 at a another time. Also very cool was a fly past by three Royal Air Force Lockheed C-130 Hercules planes at RAF Brize Norton. Sadly it became a backlit shot and the three planes diverted to Fairford of all places because the runway at Brize was not coping with the hot weather. The C-130's were supposed to land there at the end of a farewell flight over the UK. They are now retired from the Royal Air Force. I also caught their replacement, an A400M at Fairford. That was another diversion from Brize Norton. The two bases are pretty close to eachother. If you are at Fairford you can see the Brize Norton movements often fly over making their approach. That's also what happened with an A330 Voyager, which obviously did not divert to Fairford. So a short video but a lot to tell about it! I hope you enjoy it!
